Turner departs Indiana after helping lead the franchise to its first NBA Finals appearance last season.
His departure came as a shock to many and leaves a significant void in the Pacers' frontcourt. For years, Turner had anchored Indiana’s interior, providing much-needed versatility on both ends of the floor.
Despite losing their longtime starting center, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle remains confident in the team's direction. When asked about Turner’s exit, Carlisle responded with a blunt three-word message:
"We’ll be fine," Carlisle said in an interview with Forbes' Tony East.

Turner played a key role in Indiana’s Finals run, averaging 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game in the playoffs.
The Pacers now face a challenging season—not only will they need to find a new starting center, but they’ll also have to navigate a major backcourt setback.
Star guard Tyrese Haliburton is expected to miss most of the season after suffering a torn Achilles in Game 7 of the Finals.
