West Ham are planning to make an ambitious move to sign Harvey Elliott from Liverpool.
The 22-year-old has made his intention to depart from Anfield clear this summer, after struggling for consistent minutes within Arne Slot’s team last season.
And West Ham need a creative midfielder following the departure of Mohammed Kudus, who has joined Tottenham in a deal worth around £55million.
The Hammers announced their first new signing of the summer on Tuesday (July 15), when Senegalese full-back El Hadji Malick Diouf joined from Slavia Prague.

West Ham planning for Elliott talks
West Ham are expected to accelerate talks for several targets in the coming weeks, with the sizable fee received for Kudus allowing for an increased budget.
Graham Potter is keen to enhance his squad ahead of the new Premier League season, with the Englishman only managing to guide West Ham to 14th place after his appointment in January.
Elliott is among the targets identified by the former Chelsea manager, and according to Alex Crook, West Ham are set to open talks with Liverpool.

Elliott thrived at the Euros
“West Ham are planning talks with them this week,” Crook said on the Premier League All Access podcast (July 14).
Elliott’s transfer valuation has been boosted by the 22-year-old’s fantastic performances at the Under-21 EUROs, where the midfielder flourished as England won the tournament.
After scoring in the final against Germany, Elliott was also awarded the Player of the Tournament award.
Elliott would be a statement signing for West Ham
Elliot’s lack of minutes last season have gone some way to hiding the huge talent at the feet of the midfielder.
A superb dribbler with a certain eye for goal in the final third, signing Elliott would be seen as a massive coup for West Ham.
The London Stadium may be the best place for the Englishman to better his career, as the departure of Kudus would be sure to allow the midfielder plenty of minutes on the pitch.
Whilst the fee will certainly be eye-watering for some fans of the Hammers, Elliott’s potential could allow for a mammoth return on that investment down the line.
