Nottingham Forest eye Leicester City ace as replacement for £60m star

Leicester City will be looking to kick on and make real progress with their preparations for the new season after confirming Marti Cifuentes as their new boss. The Spaniard has joined LCFC from QPR, where he had been on gardening leave.

The Foxes’ loyal supporters have been aching for some stability, and it will be hoped Cifuentes can provide that. However, that ultimately has to start from the top, with the ownership and board coming under fire in recent years.

As financial issues and a potential points deduction lurk, it could be tough to keep key players at the King Power Stadium, and one man widely backed to move on is Bilal El Khannouss.

Now, amid links with the likes of Sunderland and West Ham, it has now been reported by Football Insider that the Leicester City star is being eyed up by Nottingham Forest.

The Foxes’ East Midlands rivals are claimed to have identified El Khannouss as a potential replacement for Morgan Gibbs-White. The England playmaker is at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war between Forest and Spurs, who are looking to trigger his £60m release clause.

If he does go though, LCFC man El Khannouss could be targeted to fill the gap in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
