Leeds United have now ‘agreed personal terms’ with £17m star after Sean Longstaff - journalist

Leeds United are keen to sign both Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach to bolster their engine room this summer.

The pair have been the primary options on Leeds United’s shortlist and the Whites are closing in on Sean Longstaff after they agreed a deal with Newcastle United yesterday.

However, Graham Smyth believes Stach is a ‘prime candidate’ Leeds target following a suggestion from us that Leeds should be looking into signing Stach this summer.

It’s fair to say Leeds supporters are ‘moved’ at the Stach transfer talk. That said, Stach has been spotted in Hoffenheim training recently, with Leeds yet to seal an agreement with the Bundesliga outfit.

Anton Stach agrees personal terms with Leeds as move edges closer

The public nature of Leeds’ Stach pursuit has made the transfer more difficult to complete, and Stach is valued in excess of £17 million, meaning that Hoffenheim are telling Leeds to dig deep into their pockets to make a move happen.

It’s already been reported that Stach is “considering” a switch to Leeds this summer but nothing concrete has yet materialised on that front until now.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany has the latest on the move, with Stach reportedly agreeing personal terms with Leeds now.

He adds that negotiations with Hoffenheim have already started, but that there is no agreement yet. The Bundesliga outfit are currently demanding around €20 million (£17.3 million) and add-ons for the 26-year-old.

Leeds may need to wrap things up quickly, with Plettenberg revealing that Hoffenheim have received several enquiries for Stach, not just from Leeds.

His colleague Marlon Irlbacher adds that the club and player have reached a preliminary agreement regarding a transfer, with the final hurdle being with the two clubs now.

How many more players Leeds will sign after Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach

Should Leeds seal deals for both players in the coming days, they will have signed six players in total this summer. However, most are defensive or defensive-minded players.

It leaves lots to do, with an attacking midfielder still to come in, as well as a starting striker, another winger, and more.

Leeds are targeting at least six players after Longstaff, including Stach. All of the above is required as a bare minimum, while a goalkeeper and more full-back depth is in the offing, too.

With the Everton game over a month away, there is still plenty of time, but Leeds need to maintain their momentum after an exciting 24 hours for Leeds supporters.
