Viktor Gyokeres is closing in on a move to Arsenal

Arsenal's transfer window has been busy with activity, but not all supporters are convinced as the club aims to assemble a squad capable of challenging Liverpool for the Premier League title.

The Gunners have already secured a £60m deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, while Christian Norgaard has joined from Brentford for around £12m and Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has also bolstered their ranks. Noni Madueke is set to arrive shortly after Arsenal agreed a £52m deal with Chelsea - despite opposition to the move from some fans.

Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera is also on his way after agreeing personal terms. However, there are still plenty of unresolved issues - including finalising the transfer of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, the long-awaited striker the North London giants hope can help end their long wait for a trophy - and offloading some of Mikel Arteta's surplus players.

Here, Daily Star Sport looks at the latest Arsenal transfer news.

A transfer seemed almost certain for the Sporting Lisbon forward after Arsenal moved closer to securing a £63.5m deal for the Swedish star - with only a few details left to be sorted out.

This is a major transfer saga that has dragged on for much of the summer, with Arsenal previously struggling to agree a fee with Sporting, who were playing hardball over the player.

The two clubs were reportedly £4m apart in their valuations after Arsenal initially tabled a package worth around £60m, before a breakthrough appeared to be reached.

Sporting director Andrea Berta has been in Lisbon working tirelessly to hammer out an agreement and seemed to have sealed the deal.

However, a fresh report from Portuguese outlet Record suggests that Arsenal and Sporting remain at odds over add-ons in the transfer - with the latter wanting them to be "easily achieved", something Arsenal are opposing.

All these potential arrivals at Arsenal naturally means that there will need to be some departures as Arsenal look to comply with PSR financial regulations.

According to the Evening Standard, Arteta is prepared to approve "several" exits this summer once he has completed deals for Gyokeres, Madueke and Mosquera.

The report indicates that Albert Sambi Lokonga is open to a fresh challenge and could be sold, alongside Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson, after the trio spent last season out on loan.

Another player who might be heading for the exit door is left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, with the Ukrainian seemingly having been displaced in the team by teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard are two additional players who have been mentioned in connection with potential moves, but Arteta will be keen to ensure he retains some fringe players to maintain strong squad depth.

Trossard agrees Gunners exit

Speaking of Trossard, it's reported that the Belgian has agreed personal terms with Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce for a move to the Turkish Super Lig.

As claimed by the Times, Fenerbahce are looking to seal a £20m deal for the former Brighton player after Mourinho sold his vision to the player.

The report further suggests that Bayern Munich are also eyeing the player as manager Vincent Kompany seeks to bolster his attacking options. Bayern have already had a bid of £58.6m turned down by Liverpool for Luis Diaz and are now considering alternative targets.

Trossard had a promising season with Arsenal, netting ten goals and providing 10 assists in 56 appearances. He started 28 games in the Premier League but was often rotated with Gabriel Martinelli and will be keen for more regular starts.
