Leeds United are taking their transfer window up a notch as they make inroads ahead of the Premier League season.

The Peacocks have completed several deals early, with Lukas Nmecha and Jaka Bijol among the arrivals at Elland Road.

Sebastiaan Bornauw and Gabriel Gudmundsson have also signed for Leeds as the Whites exploit the foreign market.

Now, there has been a significant update on Anton Stach, as Sean Longstaff also closes in on a move to the Yorkshire club.

The central midfielder would become the Peacocks’ first signing from a Premier League club if a deal goes through.

Now, the potential signing of Longstaff could be followed by another midfielder, with Leeds sources hopeful of signing Stach.

It has been reported that the Elland Road club would have to pay £17.25million for the TSG Hoffenheim man.

Leeds have now agreed personal terms with Stach, according to Florian Plettenberg (16 July).

Negotiations with the Bundesliga outfit have already started, although no agreement has been reached yet.

The Sky reporter states that Hoffenheim are demanding just over £17million plus add-ons for the 26-year-old, with Stach under contract until 2027.

However, the German side have received several enquiries for the midfielder, not only from Leeds.

Stach to raise the bar at Elland Road alongside Longstaff

It is clear that the Yorkshire club are targeting the hub of their midfield as they prepare several new options for Daniel Farke.

Leeds do have some strong options in central midfield, with Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev, while Ethan Ampadu can fill in.

However, this is an area that the Premier League club needs to strengthen, and Stach and Longstaff would do just that.

Stach made 30 Bundesliga appearances last season and was a solid performer, while he has also been capped by Germany.

As for Longstaff, he has an abundance of Premier League experience under his belt, having made 171 top-flight appearances.

The duo are just what Farke needs going into the new season, but there is still work to do to get both deals over the line.
