“The club has to speak” – Player won’t confirm his own transfer to Arsenal

Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera is edging closer to completing a transfer to Arsenal.

The centre-back has already said goodbye to the La Liga club ahead of his move to the Emirates.

On Tuesday, we covered claims from Spain that Mosquera is scheduled to undergo his Arsenal medical today. He was also pictured arriving at the airport before his trip to London.

Wednesday’s edition of Levante-EMV says the centre-back arrived at Luton Airport at 10:30am yesterday, to carry out medical tests with the Gunners.

Superdeporte caught up with the 21-year-old before he left Spain and asked him about his impending move to Arsenal.

Responding to that, he said: “Let’s see how everything turns out. The club is the one that has to speak.”

The two clubs have already reached an agreement for a deal worth around €20m and the defender is set to sign a five-year contract with Mikel Arteta’s side.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães were the first-choice centre-back pairing at Arsenal last season. Mosquera has to compete with the duo for a place in the starting lineup, and he certainly looks like a market opportunity the Gunners have rightly taken advantage of.
