From the outside, more will be expected of Chelsea in the Premier League next season after their Club World Cup success.
Enzo Maresca‘s men finished fourth in the table last term, 15 points behind champions Liverpool.
However, they have just beaten Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final, technically making them the best team in the world.
Todd Boehly had a message for Chelsea supporters after the game, and it appears that the American and the rest of the decision makers at Stamford Bridge have now handed Maresca his objectives for next season.

Chelsea aiming for top-four finish again
Chelsea are not getting carried away following their Club World Cup success in the US.
According to The Telegraph, there is an understanding that the Blues still have work to do before they can overtake Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.
As a result, Maresca has been given the main objective of finishing in the top four again, while the club would also like to see progress being made.
It is something that Chelsea should be able to achieve, especially after the improvements that they have made to their squad.

Chelsea have brought in the likes of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer, with the former making a real impact at the Club World Cup after scoring three goals in the tournament.
Going forward, Maresca plans to really utilise Pedro against low blocks in the Premier League.

Liverpool legend thinks Chelsea can win the Premier League
After watching them against PSG, one former Liverpool player does think Chelsea can put themselves in contention for the Premier League title next term.
When Steve Nicol discussed Chelsea’s performance after the game, the ESPN pundit said: “The back line held a fantastic line the whole game. The middle of the park dominated what we thought was the best midfield on the planet for PSG. If they can put all that together, consistently, they can beat anybody, and they can certainly win the Premier League, if they produce that game after game after game.”
Title success may come too soon, but Chelsea definitely do have enough to do better than fourth place. A top-three finish and perhaps a title charge into 2026 does not sound out of reach with the squad that they have.
