Manchester City star expected to leave – Agent comments haven’t shaken situation

There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Galatasaray are closing in on Manchester City’s İlkay Gündoğan, despite comments made from his agent which attempted to calm the situation.

Yesterday, we covered comments made by Ilhan Gündoğan in which he said the player didn’t have an agreement with any Super Lig club and there were no “official” transfer talks.

However, Fotomac report Gündoğan still looks set for a move the Turkish champions, whether they sign Victor Osimhen or not.

The Napoli forward spent last season on loan with Cimdom, helping them to a domestic double with his goals. The Nigeria international has been linked with a return to Istanbul and there’s been reports in the past few days that he’s close to signing.

However, Fotomac say Gündoğan’s transfer to Galatasaray doesn’t hinge on them signing Osimhen as previously reported. The German seems keen to continue his career with Galatasaray after being linked with them throughout the summer.

There were claims this week the Manchester City player has agreed personal terms with Gala and is expected to be paid up to €6m a season.

Gündoğan made 54 appearances for Manchester City last season and is contracted to the Premier League side until June 2026.
