Exclusive: What Brentford are indicating about Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, amid Omari Hutchinson bid

Manchester United’s pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo has occupied much of the summer transfer window.

Since the player picked Old Trafford over other options in early June and now, it has been a long and frustrating saga which will remind many of Glazers pursuits of Frenkie de Jong and Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United have been in talks for over one month, which is an unbelievable length of time considering the deal appears a straight forward one to complete.

Bryan Mbeumo wants to join United and on top of the players’ desire to make the switch, Brentford’s demands are reasonable for a player who is universally seen as one of the best in the Premier League.

United are hoping to secure the transfer before the USA tour, with dominos beginning to fall around a deal.

Brentford stance on selling Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United

United and Brentford have been a few millions apart in valuation for weeks over Mbeumo, but there are signs that a deal can be reached.

Brentford have submitted their bid for Omari Hutchinson, who is their preferred Mbeumo replacement. The bid is worth £35m which would be a club record offer.

Now, United in Focus understand, after speaking with transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey, the indications coming from Brentford over the sale of Mbeumo this summer amid the Hutchinson news.

United in Focus understand that the bid for the Ipswich star is a sign that Keith Andrews is very concerned over the prospect of losing Mbeumo and also Yoane Wissa this summer.

Meanwhile, Brentford sources are indicating that Mbeumo to United is close to being wrapped up, however this has been their stance for more than a week.

Manchester United deadline for Mbeumo now getting close

United’s pre-season tour kicks off this weekend against Leeds United and there will only be two new signings in the squad.

However, this won’t concern Ruben Amorim as long as a deal for Mbeumo can be completed before the squad fly to the USA next week for the tour.

This must be the final deadline for United to complete the deal, as waiting until afterwards would see him arrive too late to bed into Amorim’s system before the Premier League season begins.

With the replacement now being moved for, it could be assumed that a deal is closer than ever and perhaps it was even on hold until this was sorted for Brentford. Hopefully a deal can be completed imminently.
