Luis Diaz has regularly featured in Liverpool’s headlines over the last few weeks.
Liverpool have already spent an awful lot of money on improving their ranks, with the Anfield outfit now looking to sell some of their first-team squad to recoup some of the money they’ve spent.
Players such as Jarell Quansah and Caoimhin Kelleher have already been sold on, with a fair few more likely to be on their way out.
Diaz and Darwin Nunez are arguably the two biggest-name players rumoured to be looking for an exit, and if either one of them leaves, a replacement will need to be sourced.

This is why Liverpool are waiting on what happens to Diaz before making a move on one of their reported targets.
Liverpool now want to add Real Madrid’s Rodrygo to their ranks
As per a report from Spanish journalist Eduardo Borges via his personal X account, Liverpool want to negotiate with Real Madrid for the transfer of Rodrygo, but they must wait to see what happens to Diaz first.
“Rodrygo’s future remains uncertain,” he wrote.
“In addition to Arsenal’s interest, Liverpool has shown interest in recent days. Pini Zahavi is mediating for the Reds.

“Bayern Munich is monitoring his situation. They would be willing to reach €100M. Everything will depend on what happens with Luis Díaz.”
Borges also put out another tweet later in the day, which stated: “The Konaté and Rodrygo deals will NOT be dependent on the player.
“Madrid wants the center-back. His contract expires next summer and he won’t renew. Liverpool is asking for around €50 million.
“Rodrygo is valued at around €100 million. The Reds want to negotiate that figure.”
El futuro de Rodrygo sigue siendo incierto.

Liverpool need to choose which transfer targets they want the most
As with every transfer window, most Premier League teams get linked with every player under the sun.
Liverpool have already spent a hefty chunk of change, and although they can likely afford to do so due to the lack of spending they’ve committed to over the last couple of seasons, they can’t just go out and buy every one of their targets.
Two of the main players to have been linked with an Anfield switch over the last week or so have been Alexander Isak and Rodrygo.
Indeed, both are two completely different players, but with Real Madrid and Newcastle both asking for a huge amount of money for their players, a decision is going to have to be made by the Reds soon.

Granted, there are still just under two months until the summer transfer window closes, but unless the Reds manage to sell a fair few members of their squad, they’ll have to choose their next transfer wisely.
That is, especially since other clubs such as Arsenal are sniffing around a potential move for Rodrygo.
