Liverpool are now in advanced talks to sign Salford City striker Will Wright for a six-figure sum, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
It's been a busy summer transfer window for the Reds, with a heavy focus on bringing in players to improve Arne Slot's first team squad. The Merseyside outfit will also be in the market for additions to boost their academy, signing players with a long-term plan in mind. The likes of Rio Ngumoha are prime examples, with the tricky winger joining the club at a young age, and he's now being integrated into the senior squad, starting against Preston in their first pre-season friendly.
Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez are among those to have arrived through the door in the summer transfer window, with the trio likely to become guaranteed starters at Anfield. The Reds are also trying to bring Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak to the club, with reports suggesting that a £120m deal has been discussed by the Merseyside outfit after making an approach to the Magpies.

According to journalist Jacobs, Liverpool are now in 'advanced talks' to sign Salford City striker Wright for a six-figure fee. Several Premier League clubs are also keen on the young forward, but Liverpool are pushing to secure his signature.
Wright is a fairly unknown quantity considering he's hardly made an impact at senior level so far, but he's clearly a highly-rated striker. Speaking on X after the reported Liverpool move, analyst HTOMUFC has said the youngster is a 'serious player', and it's no surprise that clubs in the Premier League are taking a look at him.
It might not be the star signing in attack that Liverpool supporters are hoping for, but the recruitment team at Anfield clearly see something in the youngster. For less than £1m, it could be a bargain pickup if he develops as Liverpool clearly expect him to.
