Liverpool are pushing to sign Salford City striker Will Wright for a six-figure sum, and the Anfield club are set to pip several Premier League clubs to his services as they are in advanced talks with him, according to journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs.
Liverpool are facing competition from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, who are also keen on the 17-year-old sensation, but it is the Reds who are closing in on his services.
The Merseyside club want to bolster their attacking ranks and have been linked with both Newcastle United hitman Alexander Isak and his Eintracht Frankfurt counterpart Hugo Ekitike, but they see a deal for Wright as equally important given his huge potential and quality.

The wonderkid scored when Salford took on York City in a friendly last Friday – his fourth goal in a week – and Arsenal scouts were present to run the rule over him.
However, it is Liverpool who will be signing him from the look of things, and he could be featuring for their first-team sooner rather than later if he can convince manager Arne Slot of his quality.
Wright notched a brace against United of Manchester last Tuesday and is looking like the real deal despite his age.
The teenager will likely be joining the Liverpool under-21s initially should he complete his move to the Premier League champions this summer, but he could be getting chances to regularly train with the first-team.
