Manchester United could finally get shut of one of their wantaway stars and Chelsea might have just found a golden chance to tick off two of their transfer goals in one go.
The Blues have already splashed out on attacking reinforcements, bringing in Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens to join Enzo Maresca's squad. More signings are on the cards at Stamford Bridge, with United's Alejandro Garnacho - once touted as one of fallen Premier League giants United's brightest young prospects - being heavily linked with a move to the club.
The Argentine international is tipped to be on his way out in the coming weeks after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim - who desperately needs to raise funds to secure any further signings for the cash-strapped Red Devils.
Garnacho hasn't seen eye to eye with the United gaffer since his switch from Sporting, and it's now crystal clear that he's not part of next season's plans.
Several clubs are ready to swoop in, including Napoli and Aston Villa. However, Chelsea's long-term interest in the 21-year-old, who has registered 16 goals in 93 league appearances for United, could put them in pole position to seal the deal. And the Blues might also have a trump card in the negotiations: Nicolas Jackson.

As per The Times, United are 'monitoring' the Senegalese international as they hunt for a new No.9.
The Red Devils are keen to sign a new striker to spearhead their attack next season, and the 24-year-old - who has scored 25 goals in 64 league appearances for the Club World Cup champions, is now on their radar, reports the Express.
Chelsea aren't actively looking to offload Jackson but they're open to bids for the former Villarreal star and ready to cash in if any 'decent offers' come in for the player.
They spent around £32m to sign Jackson from Spanish side Villarreal in June 2023, offering him a massive eight-year contract. But he bagged just 10 goals in 30 top flight fixtures last campaign.
AC Milan and Villa are also eyeing up Jackson, though no bids have been made yet. However, Chelsea might fancy selling to rivals United if they can swing a deal that would bring Garnacho their way.
Given that both players' price tags are likely in the same ballpark, the Red Devils and the Blues might see this as the perfect chance for a swap deal.
Chelsea could also view this as a win-win, considering Jackson is set to find game time scarce next season with Delap and Pedro joining the ranks at Stamford Bridge.
Garnacho angered Amorim with his comments in the aftermath of United's 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, which he started on the bench, in May.

Speaking after the loss, the attacker said: "Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know.
"The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards."
He then further frustrated fans by wearing an Aston Villa shirt on holiday with the name of fellow Old Trafford outcast Marcus Rashford on the back.
