Liverpool have reportedly reignited their interest in Real Madrid star Rodrygo, amid suggestions he could be available this summer. The Reds have been busy this summer, signing Florian Wirtz for a new British transfer record fee from Bayer Leverkusen. Jeremie Frimpong also made the move from the Bundesliga side.

Following Milos Kerkez's arrival from Bournemouth, Liverpool hope to bolster their attack, with Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak emerging as potential targets Luis Diaz, on the other hand, faces an uncertain future at Anfield after emerging as a top target for Bayern Munich.

Reporter Sacha Tavolieri claims Liverpool have registered formal interest in Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, though an official bid is yet to be made. This comes after the Reds rejected a a £58.6 million bid from Bayern Munich for Diaz.

But the Reds want to keep hold of the 28-year-old and would reportedly not entertain anything less than £63m.

However, Diaz has reportedly made it clear he wants to leave the club despite having two years left on his contract.

In addition to Liverpool, Arsenal have also shown interest in Rodrygo, with reports suggesting his name remains part of discussions at the Emirates Stadium.

However, any potential move would be complicated at this stage, according to our colleagues at football.london. Arsenal’s reluctance to actively pursue the Real Madrid star may have given Liverpool the advantage.

The Brazilian previously rejected a move to Anfield in 2017. "We didn’t close the deal because I didn’t want to. I wanted to stay at Santos even though the offer was very good," Rodrygo explained at the time.

"The pathway they promised me would also have been very good for my career. I was going to finish my studies in England to prepare for European football.

"It had always been my dream to play in Europe. Everything was very good, but my desire spoke louder.

"I wanted to stay at Santos and make a bit of history at the club. And that’s what happened: I was able to fulfil my dream of playing for Santos.

"But it’s true, I almost went to Liverpool."

Reports in Spain have claimed Real won't entertain offers below €100m (£86m) for Rodrygo.
