**We can now confirm that Callan Hamill has joined English Premier League club Arsenal for an undisclosed fee.**

Everyone at the club is incredibly proud of Callan and we wish him all the very best for his next steps in the game.

Callan (16), brought to the club by Alistair Stevenson, joined our youth academy six years ago and quickly started to impress as he rose through the age groups.

He starred for our under-18s team last season and, during his time with our academy, earned Scotland selection on numerous occasions.

His proudest moment arrived at the end of the 2024/25 campaign when he made his first team debut against Dundee at McDiarmid Park.

After the move to The Gunners was made official, Callan praised the St Johnstone academy and provided messages of thanks to all those who have helped him along the way.

He said: “I can’t thank the club enough for everything they have done for me.

“A special thank you goes to Alistair Stevenson and all of the coaches who have helped me to become the player I am today.

“The club ensured I was always being challenged and pushed me to be the best that I could, even playing me in older age groups. I’ll miss the boys and the staff because they have been a huge part of my journey at Saints.”

Callan added: “Making my first team debut at the end of last season was obviously a very special day. The gaffer believed in me and gave me that chance, which I’ll always be grateful for.

“I’m looking forward to my new journey, but I’ll continue to keep tabs on how Saints are getting on because the club is now really close to me.”

Alistair Stevenson said: “Callan was a terrific member of our academy and did exceptionally well. He has had international recognition and has earned everything that has come his way.

“He did himself proud when he made his first team debut for the club and showed that he can have a really bright future in football.

“Everyone wishes Callan all the very best at Arsenal. We’ll be keeping a close eye on his progress.”
