Crystal Palace will reportedly compete with Sunderland to sign 27-year-old Ukrainian international Viktor Tsygankov from La Liga club Girona in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Diari de Girona, as relayed by Sport Witness, Viktor Tsygankov is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile wide attacker in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Eberechi Eze’s long-term future. So, the 27-year-old Girona winger has emerged as a target for the South London club.
However, Crystal Palace will face stiff competition from newly promoted Premier League outfit Sunderland for Tsygankov’s signature. Meanwhile, the Nahariya native has a release clause worth €30 million in his contract with Girona.
Viktor Tsygankov and his journey in La Liga
Viktor Tsygankov has established himself as one of the most highly-rated wingers in La Liga since joining Girona from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2023. The 27-year-old has come leaps and bounds in the last two years, although he was not consistent enough in the 2024/25 season. His struggles personified Girona’s struggles to match the heights of the 2023/24 campaign.
The Ukrainian international managed only two goals and five assists in 32 appearances across all competitions. However, Tsygankov’s stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. Crystal Palace will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
London calling?
Crystal Palace’s interest in Viktor Tsygankov makes sense. The Eagles are scouring the market for a versatile attacker amid uncertainties surrounding Eberechi Eze’s long-term future. While signing a winger will not make that player a like-for-like replacement for Eze, Crystal Palace can add more pace to the offensive moves.
So, several candidates, including Dan Ndoye, have emerged on Crystal Palace’s radar, with Tsygankov also a viable target for the South London outfit. However, the South London outfit will face stiff competition from newly promoted Premier League club Sunderland for the Girona winger’s signature.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Ukrainian international has a release clause worth €30 million in his contract with Girona. So, it will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace will fork out €30 million to sign Tsygankov from the Catalan club in the summer transfer window.
