Reading are keen on West Ham United forward Gideon Kodua, according to reports.

The 20-year-old captained the Hammers' Under-18s to FA Youth Cup glory in 2023 but is yet to make a first team appearance for the Premier League side.

Spending the last 18 months on loan in League One with Wycombe Wanderers, Kodua has scored twice in 30 appearances.

Only two of his 20 appearances last season came from the start with the Chairboys, playing 23 minutes as the Royals beat Mike Dodds' team 1-0 in April.

[According to Football Insider;](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-luton-town-reading-and-stevenage-in-race-to-sign-west-hams-gideon-kodua/) Luton Town, Reading, Leyton Orient, and Stevenage have all shown their interest so far this summer.

Hunt has confirmed he is after up to three forwards, admitting that they are short in wide positions.

Jayden Wareham turned down a new deal in order to move to Exeter City, with Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Mark O'Mahony the only recognised out-and-out striker in the squad.

Malta international Basil Tuma has impressed so far this pre-season, scoring at Hungerford Town last Saturday.
