A deal taking Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United is seen as ‘far from impossible’ and there is confidence the Italian side can get it done.
That’s [according to Tutto Atalanta](https://www.tuttoatalanta.com/primo-piano/atalanta-manchester-united-prosegue-vigile-la-suggestione-zirkzee-per-l-attacco-120116), who report that Zirkzee is hungry for redemption after his first year at Manchester United and Atalanta could offer it to him.
The Italian side are on the hunt for a replacement Mateo Retegui and the ‘chemistry’ between themselves and Manchester United is good. That was built on the deals for Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund and could facilitate a deal for Zirkzee to return to Serie A.
Atalanta have been given positive reports on the Dutchman by compatriot Marten de Roon and could accelerate negotiations as well. If Ademola Lookman were to depart, that would further push the need for a replacement and Zirkzee is on the list.
He fits the profile being sought by Ivan Juric and his European experience is seen as an added bonus on top of that.
Atalanta are currently working quietly on the deal behind the scenes but the idea of signing the Manchester United man is taking shape and seen as something that can be done.
