While working hard under the Portuguese sun, one Wolves player is being spoken about on the transfer front.
The Wolves squad suffered defeat to Santa Clara in a pre-season training game in the Algarve.
The 2-1 scoreline was irrelevant as Vitor Pereira got a lot of pointers from the 70-minute friendly, as the Wolves manager was able to heavily rotate his squad.
One of the players who has been surprising in the early stages of pre-season is Goncalo Guedes, who has been putting in the work.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Goncalo Guedes at Besiktas
Such comes as a surprise as Guedes’ attitude has been questioned multiple times since he signed for Wolves in 2022.
It’s a shock in itself that the Portuguese forward travelled for the start of pre-season, as Pereira suggested that Guedes wishes to leave this summer.
Though the player’s focus is currently on pre-season training with the Old Gold, thousands of miles away from Molineux, Guedes is the name on one club’s lips.
According to FotoMac in Turkey, Besiktas are already ‘testing the waters’ to sign Guedes this summer.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
It’s understood that the topic of conversation behind the scenes at Besiktas is a loan with an option to buy deal, something manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer approves.
FotoMac claim that Solskjaer has ‘given the green light’ to the Eagles exploring a deal to sign the 28-year-old, despite their preference being Jadon Sancho.
Signed by Wolves in 2022 for almost £28m, Guedes’ time at Molineux could come to an end this summer if Besiktas get their way.
Wolves know they can’t rely on Guedes
It was a surprise to see Guedes start the season under Gary O’Neil.
After successive loans, the forward returned to the West Midlands and, at first, things looked to finally be moving on the up.
Andy Thompson praised how ‘lively’ Guedes was during the 2024/25 campaign, but like clockwork, the 28-year-old’s standards slipped.
Being one of Wolves’ highest earners, it’s imperative that the Old Gold get Guedes off their books this summer, particularly as it’s abundantly clear that he’d rather be elsewhere.
