Man United are tracking Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson as they explore new options to sharpen their attack.
Man United Interested in Chelsea Forward
As part of their summer recruitment project, Manchester Utd have apparently been monitoring **Chelsea**forward Nicolas Jackson.
Although the 24-year-old has already signed a long-term contract with the Blues, he is now putting himself in an awkward position with Chelsea as he then moves down the pecking order. The Blues have also brought in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap during this window. Therefore, Jackson’s place in the starting eleven is not sure.
The club has no plans to sell him at this point However, the £100m price tag shows that they would consider offers. Though, the forward is still viewed as a young, quick and talented forward.
United are understood to be monitoring the technique. Additionally, Aston Villa are looking at Jackson as well. They would like him to join the squad to play under Unai Emery, who he played under at Villarreal. AC Milan is exploring their striker situation as well. Although, they seem unwilling to approach Chelsea’s price tag.
Mbeumo Still Main Target but Jackson in the Mix
Despite the growing interest in Jackson, Man Utd remain focused on signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. The Red Devils have already had two bids turned down. The latest was reportedly worth up to £60m. Brentford are holding firm on their £65m demand, and talks remain ongoing.
While Mbeumo is the club’s main attacking target, they are keeping their options open. Jackson is seen as a potential backup or alternative. Though the Chelsea player may not be the first name on Utd’s list. Again, he is available and has managed to show enough raw talent. That is something to keep an eye on.
A key focus of United’s this summer is going to be adding forwards, especially after a disappointing league campaign.
So, Jackson’s situation at Stamford Bridge just makes the scenario of where he is playing very interesting when the transfer window opens.
