Make no mistake about it, Dallas Cowboys defensive superstar Micah Parsons is well aware of what he's worth in today's market.
And he's determined to get it.
With Myles Garrett currently on a $40 million APY deal, the thought is that Micah will be getting at least that when he signs on the dotted line, but so far, things haven't been moving in the way many had hoped.
But Parsons isn't paying attention to what others get, he only wants what he can get.
“I’m just going to get mine no matter what,” Parsons said via Nick Farabaugh of pennlive.com. “You know what I mean? Like, the markets change every year. Their salary cap went up, like, another 18% this year. So, if you want to know contracts, all the contracts are based off of percentage. Like, each player, a high-paid player, takes a percentage of the salary cap. So, it’s not really the number. It goes off by the salary cap.”

Training camp in Oxnard is getting closer, with the Cowboys set to arrive in roughly a week's time, and that looms as a first loose deadline in contract talks.
The Cowboys do have a knack for getting deals sorted just as camp begins, so we hope that it will be Micah who gets his future sorted, and it won't be a long, drawn-out process like it was with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb last offseason.
Parsons doesn't seem too bothered with the time it is taking to get his new contract finalized, but Cowboy Nation wants it to get done as soon as possible.
And Micah appears determined to get every penny when it does.
