Marcus Rashford’s transfer saga with Barcelona has sparked another major twist,‘monitoring the situation closely…’

Barcelona’s pursuit of Manchester United and England player Marcus Rashford has now led to another interesting transfer development, according to stunning reports.

Marcus Rashford has been linked with Barcelona in recent weeks and the 27-year-old Manchester United player has hinted at his desire to play at the Camp Nou.

The United attacker has been training alone at the Carrington training complex this month after his return from his loan spell at Premier League side Aston Villa.

Rashford’s loan spell with Aston Villa ended on 30th June and the Premier League club opted not to make his move permanent to Villa Park this summer.

The former Aston Villa player has been back at Old Trafford and Rashford is no longer part of Ruben Amorim’s plans at the Premier League club going forward.

Rashford is expected not to feature on United’s pre-season tour and the England international is widely tipped to leave the Red Devils this summer.

Barcelona’s transfer position on Man Utd player Marcus Rashford and what it could mean for two elite European clubs

Marcus Rashford has attracted transfer interest outside of Barcelona, including from clubs in Saudi Arabia and even a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce.

But it is widely believed that the wantaway Manchester United attacker only wants a move to the Camp Nou and is ‘waiting’ for Barcelona to come swooping in for him.

CaughtOffside reports that Barcelona sporting director Deco is ‘reluctant’ to sign the Three Lions international due to the cost implications for the Spanish side.

Rashford’s mammoth United wages ‘pose a significant challenge’ for Barcelona amid the cash-strapped Spanish club needing to balance their wage structure.

The publication has also claimed that Rashford has been valued at around €60m, with United holding out for a £40m asking price for the Three Lions star.

Deco’s concerns over Barcelona’s move for Rashford have ‘stalled momentum,’ despite what the player could offer to the La Liga side’s attacking frontline.

Barcelona’s reluctance to sign Marcus Rashford could open the door for Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain this summer

According to CaughtOffside, Barcelona could switch their attention to AC Milan and Portugal winger Rafael Leao if Rashford is an ‘unattainable’ target this summer.

The outlet added that Rashford’s ongoing situation with Barcelona also has both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain keeping eyes on it from the ‘background.’

It has been reported that Chelsea and PSG are ‘monitoring the situation closely’ and could swoop in for Rashford if Barcelona fail to land the England forward.

Rashford is under contract with United until 2028 and the ex-Aston Villa player has netted 138 times and picked up 77 assists in 426 matches across all competitions.
