The Houston Rockets might be on the verge of a huge season, perhaps one of their biggest ever.
If they find great success in 2025-26, it’ll be partly because of their trade for Kevin Durant, but that won’t be the only reason.
Others, such as Amen Thompson, will lead them to a strong record and perhaps a championship.
Thompson is taking next season very seriously.
A new video shared by TexansJacob on X features Thompson in the practice gym, working on his jump shot.
He looks at ease, comfortable, and excited for what’s ahead.

Last season, Thompson posted an average of 14.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.
That was his second year in the league, and he had improved on his rookie numbers: 9.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
This is the exact sort of progression that Rockets want to see, but they also want more from Thompson.
He will now be in his third year and is hitting a stride, showing that he can produce on both ends of the court.
He is often hailed for his defensive skills, repeatedly showing people that he’s a great lockdown opponent.
If he can make his shooting even better, he will be a fully functional two-way player.
This video shows that he is working hard to improve his offense, which could be a huge blessing for the Rockets.
The summer is long, and there is plenty of time for Thompson to keep hitting the gym and putting up these shots.
