Jack Grealish is once agiain being linked with a return to Aston Villa. The 29-year-old, who left his boyhood club to sign for Manchester City in a £100million deal back in 2021, is expected to leave Pep Guardiola's side this summer.

He was left out of City's squad for the Club World Cup last month and has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium. Grealish scored just three times and added five assists in 32 appearances in 2024/25.

Despite that, Grealish is still an enticing proposition for suitors and Villa are always prominent in the conversation when it comes to the winger's future. Unai Emery's side are in the market for attacking players after Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio returned to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain following successful loan spells.

In fact, according to bet365, Villa are now the favourites to land Grealish before the end of the transfer window. They are priced at 6/4 to be Grealish's club on Monday, September 1 - deadline day - at 7pm.

Grealish is 6/1 to remain at City, while Tottenham are third favourite at 8/1, Everton coming in next at 9/1 and Nottingham Forest completing the top five at 9/1. A move to Saudi Arabia is lined up at 10/1 for Grealish, with West Ham at 10/1, Newcastle United and Napoli both at 12/1, and Fenerbahce at 16/1.

As rumours continue to swirl around a move back to Villa, Grealish has already made his feelings clear on a potential return to the club in the future. Speaking in an interview in December 2021, Grealish claimed that, like Ashley Young, he hopes to be back before the end of his career.

"It's a club that is so close to my heart and I definitely hope to go back there," Grealish told The Telegraph. "That's always been in my mind. Ashley Young has done it and I want to do the same, 100 per cent."

"I knew some people would be unhappy when I left, and I can see why some were like that, but I gave my all for the club every single year I was there. If I score, I’m not going to be celebrating.

"At the end of the day I'm Jack Grealish from Solihull who loves the Villa. That will never change - I've had a season ticket since I was four and been a fan my whole life."

According to our sister site Manchester Evening News, Grealish is one of three players City have decided to move on this summer. Kalvin Phillips and James McAtee are the others, as Guardiola tries to revamp his squad after a trophy-less season.

City want a permanent deal for Grealish but have accepted that they might have to settle for a loan.
