Liverpool star Luis Diaz remains the preferred candidate for Bayern Munich this summer, with Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard out of the running.
That’s according to Kicker, who report that claims the Arsenal man could be an alternative for the Liverpool forward are unfounded.
They explain that Diaz is the preferred candidate for Bayern this summer. Internally they believe he has all the prerequisites to be a perfect fit under Vincent Kompany.
In addition to his footballing ability, they believe he is physically at a top level and can play every three days, as well as almost never being injured. Furthermore, he can play in multiple positions and help to cover for Harry Kane if required.
The problem is that Liverpool have rejected an initial offer of €67.5m. Any deal depends on the Reds accepting a transfer and the final commitment from Diaz. Reports elsewhere have insisted that the Colombian is determined to make the move this summer.
Bayern, for their part, aren’t looking at alternatives. Rumours linking them to Arsenal’s Trossard and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo are wide of the mark. Both players are ‘out of the question’ for the German giants.
Thus, the focus is on getting a deal done with Liverpool, although their initial stance and demands have not got that off to the best of starts.
