What will happen to the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2025-26 season?
Will they rebound from the nightmarish season they just pushed through, or will they remain injured and held back, one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference?
Speaking on ESPN, Tim MacMahon said that the 76ers have talent, but they are built on a foundation that cannot hold.
“The Philadelphia 76ers are built on a flimsy foundation. They are built on a foundation of two max players who might be the two worst-valued contracts in the NBA, and it is not about talent. Joel Embiid and Paul George are incredibly talented. It doesn’t matter if you’re doing that in street clothes,” MacMahon said, via NBACentral.

A lot of fans are growing increasingly nervous about Joel Embiid, Paul George, and their hefty contracts.
They are two of the best players in the league when they are healthy, but their health seems fleeting these days.
Hopes were high for the Sixers last season, but they never got off the ground because these two were never at 100 percent.
Both players were hurt before the very first game and never able to fully recover.
Of course, more time has now passed, and both could be in much better shape, but there is always the risk that injuries will flare up again.
If that happens, Philadelphia’s chance of returning to the playoffs will be greatly damaged.
The 76ers are paying a lot for Embiid and George, and currently not getting much in return.
Will that change in 2025-26, and what happens if it doesn’t?
