Contract details for new Pittsburgh Steelers superstar revealed

The new contract details for Pittsburgh Steelers star cornerback Jalen Ramsey have been revealed. Ramsey’s contract details have hit the NFLPA’s page, and it shows the Steelers will only have Ramsey around a $4 million cap hit this season.

Even with Jonnu Smith factoring into this, the Steelers ended up saving cap space on the Ramsey and Smith for the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade.

The Dolphins added $3 million to Ramsey’s deal to help balance out the trade, and they will pay $7 million of Ramsey’s $26.6 million. Previously, the Dolphins had already paid $4 million of Ramsey’s salary.

That means the Steelers will pick up the rest of the contract, a hair under $20 million at $19.6 million this season. He is expected to be their star cornerback and rotate into the slot.

The Steelers could move on from Ramsey as early as next offseason, so there is no guarantee he stays past 2025. However, he is under contract through 2028 if he continues to play at a high level. Pittsburgh has a lot of flexibility to do as they wish with the contract.

Ramsey signed an extension with the Dolphins last September, but all parties agreed that a trade would be better for both sides. Now, the Steelers will have Ramsey in the fold to help anchor their defensive backfield.
