Arsenal could switch their attention from Real Madrid star Rodrygo to Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze for the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window, according to reports - with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta 'not willing to wait forever' to land the Brazilian in terms of strengthening his left-wing ranks.
Arsenal have already spent around £80million this summer on three different players, but are also shortly set to add another £52million to that tally for Chelsea star Noni Madueke - whilst a move for Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres looks to be in the offing at around £70million and a move for Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera also looks to be imminent. But their search for a winger continues and that could see them look to sign Eze alongside the incoming trio.

The report by Football Transfers states that Arsenal are set to step up their talks to sign Eze from Palace in the transfer market, with the club not 'willing to wait forever' to land Real Madrid star Rodrygo to make a decision on his future.

Instead, they are now prioritising a move for Eze as a potential option to play on the left-wing, having excelled there for Palace and England.
There is still hope of a positive response from Rodrygo's representatives, but that won't deter Arsenal from at least pursuing the former Queens Park Rangers star, who they have broadly agreed personal terms with on an informal basis amid his £100,000-per-week deal in the south.
Signing both would require at least some sales from their current first-team squad, but with Palace keen to retain their best players and Eze's release clause being £68million, Arsenal would like to pay less than that, which could throw a spanner in the works for the deal.
Eze enjoyed his best creative season in the Premier League last season, registering an impressive eight assists for the Selhurst Park club, beating his best-ever of six in his debut campaign back in 2020/21.
Although he didn't score as many as last season when he bagged 11, he's shown another side to his game and having just turned 27, the London-born star is entering his prime, which could see Arteta take advantage of that. Palace have lost key figures and survived in the past, including Wilfried Zaha, Yannick Bolasie and Michael Olise - and so replacing Eze should come with minor hurdles for the club should he leave for north London.

Chelsea hold talks with Eberechi Eze’s agents in potential blow to Arsenal
According to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea held new talks yesterday with the agents of Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. The report highlights how the FIFA Club World Cup winners are yet to make contact with Palace because they are looking to see if the 27-year-old attacking midfielder wants to join them. The England international has a release clause worth £65m in his contract at Selhurst Park, but Enzo Maresca’s outfit are holding off triggering it as they want to learn the player’s preference before advancing any further. Eze has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, with the Gunners set to hold discussions with the Palace hierarchy in the upcoming days. Reports claim that Eze himself is keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium to play for Mikel Arteta's side.
