Man Utd transfer news&rumours as Matheus Cunha’s ex-Wolves teammate is linked and Douglas Luiz‘situation’unfolds

One of Matheus Cunha’s former Wolves teammates and Juventus star Douglas Luiz have both popped up amid the latest news and rumours around Manchester United.

Matheus Cunha officially became a Manchester United player in June after the Red Devils triggered the 26-year-old Brazilian attacker’s release clause at Wolves.

Ruben Amorim is a big fan of the former Wolves ace and United agreed to pay £62.5m for Cunha to the Brazil international’s former Premier League side.

Cunha inked a five-year deal at United and the former Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig player linked up with his Red Devils teammates for pre-season training last week.

The marquee summer signing is also a Brazil teammate of Douglas Luiz, who has been tipped to leave Juventus and has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Man Utd could reunite Matheus Cunha with Wolves star Andre at Old Trafford amid transfer interest

Manchester United could raid Wolves for the second time this summer and Matheus Cunha could find himself crossing paths with an all-too-familiar face at Old Trafford.

Cunha played alongside United-linked Andre at the Molineux and the Red Devils are tipped to enter the race to sign the 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder from Wolves.

Corriere dello Sport now reports that Andre, who arrived at Wolves last summer from Fluminense, has attracted interest from United, Liverpool and Juventus.

Wolves signed Andre for an initial fee of £18.5m, including £2.5m in add-ons, and the ex-Fluminense defensive midfielder is under contract until 2029 at the Molineux.

However, it is believed that Wolves could be open to selling the Liverpool and Juventus-linked midfielder for as little as £30m in the summer transfer window.

Man Utd could now face a real battle in signing Juventus and Brazil midfielder Douglas Luiz after Everton entered the race

Douglas Luiz only arrived at Juventus in 2024 after the Old Lady signed the United-linked midfielder in a deal worth £42.35m from Premier League side Aston Villa.

However, the 27-year-old Brazilian has failed to impress in Turin since his move from Aston Villa last summer and Serie A side Juventus are now looking to offload Luiz.

According to Calciomercato, Everton are ‘intent on making a move’ for Luiz and the Toffees have ‘initiated contact’ with Juventus about signing the player this summer.

The Italian outlet has reported that Everton are ‘ready to make an offer’ and David Moyes’ side want to sign the Juventus star on a loan deal ‘with an option to buy.’

However, Everton face a roadblock with the initial loan option and to purchase Luiz down the line, with Juventus keen to make it a ‘permanent transfer.’
