Ruben Amorim has not shied away from making bold decisions ever since his appointment at Manchester United.
The Portuguese head coach has created a close bond with fans by being brutally honest and transparent during his first few months at the club.
Ruben Amorim’s communication skills are excellent and are much appreciated by the fanbase, and it seems he is just as blunt with the players behind closed doors.
Last season, Marcus Rashford was frozen out by Amorim due to a lack of effort shown in training. A few months later, Amorim told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club after his comments in the aftermath of the Europa League final.
This summer, Amorim told five players not to return – including Rashford and Garnacho – so they could find a new club to join.

Ruben Amorim slammed over Man United outcasts
Ruben Amorim has made it clear that player power will not be tolerated under his management and Ineos have backed his bold call.
Amorim’s five unwanted players have been told to train after 5pm at Carrington to avoid overlapping with first-team training in pre-season.
Pundit Nedum Onuaha spoke about Amorim’s decision on ESPN and compared it to a similar situation he faced at Manchester City.

“It is [horrendous] in my opinion. This happened to me when I was at Manchester City with Roberto Mancini,” Onuaha said.
“We were told we were coming in to begin pre-season a week after the rest of the first team. They travelled to America for their pre-season.
“We were the bomb squad, we were basically training with the Under-18s at the same time as the first team. Our session finished before theirs, so we walked over to the first-team pitch, sat down on some balls and just watched the training session of our friends and peers.
“Next evening, a message came through – you guys are not to train before 3pm on any day going forward. That was the latest time someone could still be at the training ground.
“A club can tell you they don’t want you and that you have to find a new space, but why does this element of psychological warfare have to arrive as well?
“The player message is already clear that ‘we don’t want you or need you here’, but these are still functioning professionals.”
Ruben Amorim is setting high standards at Man United
Because of players being cast out, Ineos are struggling to sell this summer which has caused United’s transfer plans to grind to a temporary halt.
Clubs are aware that United will have to slash their asking price after making it so blindingly clear which players are not wanted.
But Amorim put his foot down, and that is what United fans have been asking a manager to do for years.
United have been massively underperforming, and last season’s 15th-placed finish was unacceptable. Amorim has identified players he clearly believes do not have a positive impact on the dressing room and removed them.

Rashford has been given a brutal reality check, as has Garnacho given he was once considered the future of the club.
It sends a message to the rest of the squad that poor attitude won’t be tolerated, and perhaps setting up a disciplined culture is worth more to Amorim than the transfer fees he is missing out on.
