Liverpool are launching a club-record £130m bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, according to Football Insider.
The Reds are reportedly tabling an offer that surpasses Florian Wirtz’s £116m move to Anfield earlier this summer, and remain determined to secure Isak as their top striker option.
Liverpool have held long-standing interest in the Sweden international and were heavily linked with a move in recent months, despite Newcastle’s firm stance.
The Magpies are unwilling to part ways with the ‘unbelievable’ attacker this summer, although they may be preparing for the inevitable with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike being targeted as a potential replacement. Liverpool have also made contact for Ekitike on Wednesday, according to David Ornstein.

According to Football Insider, while Liverpool have denied that an official bid has been submitted for Isak, it is believed Arne Slot’s side have proposed a £130m package during preliminary talks.
Liverpool have already spent close to £200m on new arrivals this summer, including Wirtz and full-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
A move for Isak would make him one of the most expensive signings in football history and mark another landmark addition for the Reds, following his career-best Premier League season.
Liverpool are also expected to strengthen their defence this summer, with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi remaining a key target.
The England international is expected to leave Selhurst Park with a year left on his contract and is believed to be keen on a move to Merseyside.
