**West Ham** winger Crysencio Summerville is set to miss the Hammers’ pre-season trip to the USA as Graham Potter readies his players for the new campaign.
The Irons will travel to New Jersey later this month to face Manchester United, followed by games against Everton and Bournemouth.
At present, the West Ham squad is in Germany preparing for Saturday’s game against Grasshoppers – and while Summerville has travelled, he is on a separate training regime as he works to regain fitness following hamstring surgery.
He is expected to return to Rush Green when the rest of the squad fly out to the States for the Premier League Summer Series. There, he’ll continue his rehabilitation, which is said to be “progressing well,” according to club sources who spoke to [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/category/news/) earlier this week.
Officially, the winger’s return is not expected until September. However, in a recent interview, the Dutchman hinted that he may be targeting a return around the end of pre-season.
Summerville has also revealed that West Ham boss Potter has earmarked the player as a left winger this season.
