Mateo Joseph looks all but set to leave Leeds United this summer.

The forward has not found success at Elland Road since his move to the Yorkshire club in 2022.

In 73 appearances, the 21-year-old has only netted six times, despite being part of the Championship title-winning team last season.

As a result, Joseph has been heavily linked with a Leeds exit this summer as he looks to get his career back on track.

Now, the ongoing transfer saga has taken a new twist.

Leeds consider offer from Real Betis for Mateo Joseph

Real Betis have been heavily linked to Joseph this transfer window.

However, despite Joseph being keen on a move to Betis, reports emerged that talks between Leeds and Betis had stalled.

Now, this issue appears to be resolved as ElDesmarque (16 July) have reported that the Spanish side have submitted a loan with the option to buy for the 21-year-old.

It is currently unclear how much Betis are offering to purchase the forward at the end of the deal.

Leeds are currently considering the offer, and there has been no definitive response given yet.

However, personal terms should not be an issue, with Joseph keen to get the move done.

Farke should accept offer for Joseph

In what is going to be a long and complicated campaign, the last thing Daniel Farke needs is to have an unhappy player in the dressing room.

It is clear that Joseph is not in the German’s plans this season, with the 21-year-old struggling to adapt to English football.

Joseph has never found form at Leeds

While the forward does have three years left on his contract, Leeds should just look to cut their losses and accept Betis’ offer.

Hopefully, the Peacocks can also add a sell-on clause to ensure that if Joseph does find his form in La Liga, the Yorkshire club can make some money in the future.
