The 32-year-old guard is giving back $13.8 million to complete the buyout, per Fred Katz of The Athletic. He had $110.8 million and two years remaining on his contract.

Beal and his camp prioritized finding the best basketball fit once the Suns gave him permission to speak with other teams. After meeting with multiple interested suitors, Beal became increasingly excited about the opportunity to move on.

His agent then worked with the Suns to finalize the buyout on Wednesday, clearing the way for Beal to begin a new chapter in Los Angeles.

The move also benefits the Suns, who now gain valuable flexibility in team building.

By moving out of the NBA's first and second tax aprons, Phoenix gains access to more tradable draft picks and opens up a portion of the mid-level exception to strengthen their roster.
