Sir Alex Ferguson's prediction for 'extremely dangerous' Man Utd attacking talent who will never play under Ruben…

Sir Alex Ferguson’s powerful assessment of one first-team Manchester United star who had “so much potential” shows what ‘could have been’ for Ruben Amorim.

Ruben Amorim became the sixth Manchester United manager to be permanently appointed at the Premier League club in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.

The 40-year-old United manager now faces the huge task that his predecessors, including Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, fell short of achieving at the club.

United have been eager to return to the top of English football and capture the Premier League title since legendary former manager Ferguson retired in 2013.

Ferguson led United to all 13 of their Premier League titles during his incredible reign at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils’ last triumph coming in the 2012-13 season.

However, Amorim is in need of a United first-team squad rebuild after he inherited his side from Erik ten Hag, who was sacked as Red Devils head coach last October.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s telling verdict on Jadon Sancho should be a real eye-opener for Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim

Jadon Sancho had been heavily linked with Manchester United before the Red Devils finally landed the former Chelsea player from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been in the dugout at the time as United manager, with the Red Devils dropping a hefty £73m at the time to sign the 25-year-old winger.

Sancho had made a real name for himself at Borussia Dortmund after he had left the youth set-up at Manchester City and applied his skills and flair in the Bundesliga.

The United winger had been representing England at Euro 2020 ahead of his move to Old Trafford when Sir Alex Ferguson offered his two cents on Sancho.

Speaking ahead of England’s Euro 2020 clash with Scotland in June 2021, Ferguson waxed lyrical about Sancho’s “dangerous” attacking output and his raw “potential.”

“I think a lot of Jadon Sancho, with his one-on-one duels, as an assister and scorer, he is extremely dangerous,” he told Sport Bild at the time, as per Sport Witness.

“He has so much potential, he helps the team. That’s why he’ll be valuable to England over the course of the tournament.”

Ruben Amorim will now never see what Sir Alex Ferguson predicted for Man Utd winger Jadon Sancho

Fast-forward from Euro 2020 when Ferguson made his position on Jadon Sancho and the United star is not even part of the England set-up under Thomas Tuchel.

Sancho struggled to live up to the ‘hype’ at Old Trafford and the former Borussia Dortmund star’s spell took an ugly turn with his falling out with Erik ten Hag.

The former England international was loaned out to Chelsea for the entirety of the 2024-25 Premier League season amid Ten Hag being sacked as United manager.

Chelsea turned down a permanent move for Sancho and the Blues instead paid a £5m penalty to pull out of their agreement with United from their 2024 loan deal.

Sancho has now been linked with Juventus after returning from his loan spell and he is tipped to leave Old Trafford, with the player not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans.

The former Dortmund winger is expected to be shown the door at the Premier League club as soon as possible, despite never featuring under Amorim.
