Some Leeds United fans, and some pundits around the club have had some criticisms of the transfer window. Especially compared to Sunderland’s business so far.
The Black Cats, who were promoted via the playoff final, have already hit the £100m mark and are keen on spending more. Leeds have only spent just over £30million, but the money has gone into some solid acquisitions.

Former Leeds man Paul Robinson, however, does not agree. He has tagged the whole window as ”underwhelming”.
“…when we see Sunderland spending big, we see other teams spending big as well, £30million for that amount of players isn’t a lot of money.
“They’re players that won’t be getting Leeds fans out of the chair getting excited about next season. It’s certainly bolstering the squad. They’re quality-proven players, but actually, I think as far as transfer business-wise goes, it’s been underwhelming so far.“

One name that will definitely bring some interest to the fans is Anton Stach. The 26-year old has raised eyebrows across Europe this season, as he had been one of the best defensive midfielders among the top leagues.
Leeds have agreed personal terms with the midfielder. The Whites now have to agree on a fee with Hoffenheim before a move can go through. The German club will reportedly be looking at a fee in excess of £17million. Leeds have been focused on adding a midfielder to the squad after bolstering the defence and attack.
National team selection could influence deal
According to Kicker in Germany, many see a move to the Premier League as a way Stach can solidify his place in the national team.
The 26-year old last wore national team colours in 2022. And with the World Cup just over six months away, a solid season in the Premier League could make his case. The report also adds that Leeds are not the only team in the race for the midfielder this summer.
Stach could mean a change of system for Daniel Farke
Anton Stach could very well mean Daniel Farke moves to a midfield three. With clubs being able to exploit spaces at the top flight, having three bodies in the middle of the park could help limit transitions.
The 26-year old is a combative midfielder, very good at winning the ball. His decision making is even more impressive, as he often picks the right pass during counter attacks. He will fit well in this Leeds team.
