Saudi clubs ready to pay big to sign £65 million-rated Liverpool ace as Serie A giants abandon…

Saudi Pro League clubs are prepared to meet Liverpool’s valuation for Darwin Nunez, with Napoli stepping back in the race for his signature.

According to a report from TBR, Napoli have withdrawn from the race for the signature of Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez. The Italian giants are all set to focus on other targets. Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League clubs are ready to meet the Merseyside club’s demands to sign the South American star.

The Reds forked out a massive fee to sign Nunez from Benfica back in 2022. While he was a regular feature under Jurgen Klopp, he failed to cement his spot in the starting XI. Arne Slot, who took charge last summer, hasn’t been pleased with his efforts and has already told the player that he won’t have a prominent role if he is still around next season.

Napoli are no longer pushing to sign Nunez

While he still has three years left on his deal, both Liverpool and his representatives have been working hard to find him a new club. Napoli emerged as a potential destination. The Italian giants were very keen on signing him, but they eventually backed out of the race.

They are no longer in talks to sign the 26-year-old striker. The Naples-based club submitted an offer just under £50 million earlier this month, and they had already agreed on personal terms with the player. While he had made it clear that he wanted to move to the Diego Maradona Stadium, the Italian club’s offer wasn’t good enough.

The Merseyside club want around £65 million, and Napoli have no intentions of paying that big a fee. As a result, they have shifted their focus elsewhere. While there were a few more European clubs that were interested in him, they seem to have backed out because of the high asking price.

Saudi clubs are ready to meet Liverpool’s demands

While clubs in Europe have taken a back seat, Saudi Pro League clubs still retain interest in the Liverpool forward. They are constantly looking to sign some talent from Europe, and the South American star has been on their wishlist for some time.

They have an active interest in the 26-year-old and are willing to meet the Merseyside club’s demands. However, Nunez has been adamant that he wants to continue in Europe; as a result, it will be interesting to see if they can convince him to move to the Middle East.
