Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will be desperate to see his side improve during the upcoming Premier League season.
The Red Devils finished 15th in the top flight standings last term, failing to qualify for European competition next time around.
While Amorim may only have taken charge of United in November, the Portuguese is already under pressure to oversee improvement after a disappointing first six months in charge at Old Trafford.
Away from the pitch, it appears that United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of an England international.
According to GiveMeSport, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins would be open to the idea of a move to Man United if they make an offer to sign him.
Watkins, 29, has established himself as one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League over the past few seasons, having joined Villa from Brentford in 2020.

In total the Englishman has now scored 87 goals in 223 games for the Villans, but his impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed and the report claims that the Red Devils are interested in the player.
He scored 17 goals in total last season, but fell somewhat out of favour towards the end of the campaign following the arrivals of Marcus Rashford and Donnell Malen.
According to the report, Watkins has emerged as a target for those steering Manchester United’s recruitment as they look to bolster Amorim’s attacking options ahead of next season.
Last term, current United strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both struggled in front of goal for Amorim’s side.
It is claimed that Watkins would be open to the idea of swapping Villa Park for Old Trafford, if United do decide to realise their interest and table an offer for the player.
Watkins is under contract with Villa until the end of the 2027/28 season, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will be part of Unai Emery’s squad next season.
