Instead, Beal plans to sign a two-year, $11 million deal with the LA Clippers after reaching a buyout agreement with the Phoenix Suns.
Last season, Beal appeared in 53 games for the Suns, averaging 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 49.7% from the field and 38.6% from three-point range.
Throughout his career with the Washington Wizards and Suns, Beal has played in 801 games, averaging 21.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
As for the Lakers, they are now shifting their focus to improving their point-of-attack defense and may create a roster spot by waiving guard Shake Milton.
