NY Giants Standout in Exclusive Company With Justin Jefferson

While their quarterback play left a lot to be desired, there were still some positive storylines from the New York Giants' offense last season. Among the biggest was the stellar play of wide receiver Malik Nabers.

With their top ten pick in the 2024 draft, the Giants selected Nabers following a strong college career at LSU. Even with the team constantly making changes under center, he still managed to have an impactful first year in the NFL. Across 15 games, he totaled 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. This production landed Nabers in the top five for Offensive Rookie of the Year voting, with his former college teammate Jayden Daniels taking home the hardware.

Nabers had a strong start to the season, but fizzled out after missing two weeks. He managed to end his rookie campaign on a high note, having his best individual outing in Week 17. In a victory against the Indianapolis Colts, he erupted for over 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Drafting Nabers proved to be a smart decision for the Giants front office, as he looks to be on a path towards stardom. As a rookie, he managed to put his name alongside some of the top talents at the position today. Over the past decade, Nabers is one of the highest-graded rookie wide receivers against single coverage. Some of the players just ahead of him include Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Being in statistical company with players like this is a testament to how effective Nabers was out of the gate. As the Giants continue to build out their roster for the future, they might have stumbled into a new star receiver.

Seeing how well he performed with New York's QB situation last year, Nabers is for sure a player to keep an eye on in 2025. With the addition of Russell Wilson in free agency, the Giants should have much more stability under center. While he might not be the superstar he once was, Wilson is still a reliable starter who should raise the Giants' floor offensively. More importantly, the former Super Bowl champion has a chance to help take Nabers' game to the next level.

In roughly one week, Nabers will officially begin the ramp-up to his sophomore campaign in training camp.
