Bayern Munich are reportedly turning their attention to Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli after hopes of signing his teammate Leandro Trossard dwindled, according to fresh reports from Germany and the UK.
The Bundesliga champions had shown interest in Trossard, 30, who is entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium. The Belgian international had emerged as a target for Bayern’s new head coach Vincent Kompany, himself a fellow countryman. However,Sky Deutschland now reports that Trossard is not interested in a move to the Allianz Arena, despite “numerous enquiries” from the Bavarian giants. Instead, Turkish side Fenerbahçe have emerged as more serious contenders for his signature.
Arsenal, meanwhile, remain keen to extend Trossard’s contract, which currently runs until 2026. The Gunners view the versatile forward as a valuable squad option as Mikel Arteta continues to build a team capable of competing on multiple fronts.

With Trossard no longer a viable target, Bayern are said to be revisiting their interest in Gabriel Martinelli, who has emerged as a new name on their shortlist for a wide forward. According toThe Athletic, the 24-year-old Brazil international is under consideration as Bayern seek reinforcements on the left flank.

Martinelli, who has two years left on his current deal, is regarded as a key player at Arsenal. However, speculation persists that the club may be forced to sanction a high-profile sale this summer to help fund their aggressive transfer strategy. The Gunners are currently pursuing a £70 million move for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, with a £50 million deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke also reportedly close to completion.

In addition, Arsenal are working on a move for Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera, while also maintaining interest in Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. The combined cost of these deals could push Arsenal’s summer spending beyond the £200 million mark, making potential outgoings increasingly likely, even if Martinelli is not among the players they are eager to part with.
Bayern Munich are also monitoring Liverpool’s Luis Díaz, though the Reds have already rejected a £58 million bid for the Colombian winger, underlining the difficulty of securing top-tier wide players in the current market.
While a move for Martinelli would represent a major coup for Bayern, Arsenal are expected to resist any formal approach. Nevertheless, with the summer window still open, the situation remains fluid as the German champions continue their search for attacking reinforcements.
