Jack McVeigh's heater highlights NBA Summer League for Nebraska alums

Jack McVeigh’s Monday heater highlighted a relatively quiet NBA Summer League showing in Las Vegas for Nebraska alumni.

The Husker forward from 2015 to 2018 scored 21 points — including 10 in the fourth quarter — to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 111-108 overtime win over the Houston Rockets. McVeigh had a brief stint in Houston last season, appearing in nine games while on a two-way contract.

McVeigh was 8 of 10 from the field against his old team, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range. He has played in two of the Hawks’ three games in the past week, scoring seven points against the Miami Heat on Friday.

Brice Williams came off the bench to score 10 points for the Detroit Pistons against the Rockets on Sunday. He also had two rebounds and two assists in Detroit's 98-83 win. He knocked down a 3-pointer against Minnesota in his only other appearance in Vegas.
