Aaron Jones holds football camp in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Minnesota Vikings and former Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones made a stop in Eau Claire, holding a football camp at Regis High School.

Jones sharing his thoughts on being able to give back to both the Minnesota and Wisconsin communities.

“It’s very special for for me to come back to Wisconsin and put on a camp here in Eau Claire. I know a big part of big part of my supporters are Green Bay fans and then the other half is Minnesota Viking fans. So it’s very important for me to come back. But most importantly, just to give the game back to these kids came out here. I’ve seen there’s some talent here in this area. Some good sized athletes who could run who could play. So I feel like it’s my job to give the game back.”

“It just shows right there that it’s kind of bigger than football. It doesn’t matter where you play, if you’re doing great, doing good in the communities, the communities will get behind you no matter if you’ve played for two teams. I still have the Packer community that supports me and I still have the Viking community that supports me, so that’s huge and I feel like that just allows me to a broader scope of giving back to more kids.”

Jones will have a new quarterback handing him the ball this season, and the Vikings running back gave his thoughts on J.J. McCarthy.

“It’s been a lot of fun working with JJ. He’s very, very smart. Even though he didn’t play this past year, he was still working. It’s the things that people couldn’t see that we’ve seen inside that building that made us so confident in him, and we’re excited to for him to lead us and we’re we’re we’re there to make his job easier.”
