Fulham have approached Arsenal over another move for Reiss Nelson, though the Premier League clubs haven’t agreed on the nature of a potential transfer.

Sami Mokbel of the BBC broke the news on Wednesday night that Arsenal have received an approach from Fulham for the signing of Reiss Nelson, having taken the winger on loan in 2024/25.

Mokbel reports that the move is likely to be another loan move, but the structure of the deal is still be finalised with talks ongoing.

Ideally, a transfer would be agreed and concluded before Arsenal head off to Singapore for the start of their Asia tour this weekend.

Sky Sports News report that whilst Fulham are indeed exploring a loan, it’s likely Arsenal will want a permanent element attached to the move – whether that means a purchase option or an obligation to buy.

Tom Canton of Football.London confirms that Fulham boss Marco Silva is a big fan of Nelson and is in need of signings, with the club yet to make a single one.

Though many of the outlets reporting on Nelson’s potential move mention that he has two years left on his deal, it’s worth highlighting that Arsenal have an option to extend by a further year to 2028.

So if Nelson did go on loan and return next summer, he’d still potentially have another two years after that to either sort out an extension or a transfer.

Nelson spent the 2024/25 season on loan with Fulham, with the hope that he’d find some consistency and raise his value ahead of this summer.

Unfortunately, he spent six months out of action with back-to-back hamstring injuries, with the second of those injuries requiring surgery. Another loan may be required to convince a club to spend big on his permanent signature.
