The departure of one Chelsea player who played a big role under Enzo Maresca in the 2024/25 season is set to be confirmed in the coming hours.
Noni Madueke’s move to Arsenal has been agreed, with the winger departing the Blues camp in the United States just hours before their Club World Cup triumph.
Chelsea players are already making jokes that Madueke can show off a winner’s medal to his new teammates, with honours being few and far between since Mikel Arteta took over.
It was Arteta who convinced Madueke of the deal, although it remains to be seen whether he gets opportunities to play in his favoured right-wing role at the Emirates. Bukayo Saka will be providing significant competition.

Chelsea ‘happy’ with sale of Noni Madueke to Arsenal
Despite the fact that he was frequently a starter for the Blues since Maresca came in, Chelsea fans are hardly heartbroken to see him make the move across to their London rivals.
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that the Blues are happy with the deal to sell the winger.
He also mentioned that there were notable issues with his conduct off the field. Madueke was dropped from the Chelsea squad for the Boxing Day defeat to Fulham.
The England international scored seven Premier League goals last season, whilst also picking up four assists.

However, many will point to three of those strikes coming in the second game of the season against Wolves, and wonder if his attacking output was enough to maintain a regular spot in the side.

Chelsea already have Madueke replacements at the ready
The Blues have already been busy in the transfer window to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season following their successful campaign under Maresca.
Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens have been signed to help transform the attack ahead of the new season, with the former making a serious impact at the Club World Cup.
The Blues will also have Estevao Willian available for action when the new season gets underway, with him leaving a real impression on the club with his stunning goal against them in the quarter-finals.
Reports refuse to go away linking Alejandro Garnacho with a move to Stamford Bridge too, with Chelsea potentially seeing an opportunity at a cut-price deal due to his desire to leave Manchester United.
