Arsenal appear to have hijacked Liverpool’s bid to sign young Salford City striker Will Wright, significantly outbidding their Premier League rivals.

Up until Wednesday afternoon, Liverpool looked to be in the driving seat for the signing of Salford City striker Will Wright, but the situation changed dramatically with news of a serious bid from Arsenal.
DaveOCKOP broke the news that Arsenal had firmed up their interest and were close to agreeing a fee with Salford City, with the Gunners’ offer reportedly including a package which could earn Salford over £500,000.

Charlie Wyett confirmed for The S*n that Arsenal look to have won the race for the striker.
Wyett claims Liverpool offered £100,000 plus add-ons, but Arsenal bid £250,000 plus “major” add-ons, perhaps ultimately taking the deal to that £500,000+ figure reported by DaveOCKOP.
Sam Dean of The Telegraph confirms that Arsenal want to sign Wright, with Alex Crook of talkSPORT also verifying that the Gunners are in for the player.

Only recently turning 17, Wright has already made four competitive appearances for League Two Salford City. He’s also been heavily involved in senior pre-season this summer, scoring four times in three games.
The youngster has primarily been playing youth football up until now, and reports suggest he’d initially be linking up with the Arsenal u21s if he joined.
