Shane Gillis didn’t pull any punches during [his opening monologue](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6gU77uotMk) at the 2025 ESPY Awards on Wednesday night.
Just ask six-time Super Bowl champion head coach Bill Belichick, who was on the receiving end of some funny but crude material stemming from his relationship with 24-year old Jordan Hudson.
“… A bookie is what Bill Belichick reads to his girlfriend before bedtime,” Gillis said with a laugh, [per Awful Announcing](https://x.com/awfulannouncing/status/1945650193036390444?s=46&t=WuRcGHRmUnGP6NJ3K9ubWQ).
Gillis then named a few NSFW book titles, which served as a few more jabs at the former New England Patriots head coach.
“Also, I’m not trashing Bill Belichick. He’s 73 years old and he’s dating a hot 24-year-old, and people are criticizing him,” Gillis said. “What happened to this country? We used to be a great country. He won six Super Bowls. Yeah, he’s dating a hot 24-year-old. Maybe if you guys won six Super Bowls you wouldn’t be sitting next to a fat, ugly, dog wife.”

Gillis, a well-known stand up comedian, actor and podcaster, didn’t target on Belichick, though. He took aim at Caitlin Clark, Shedeur Sanders and the rest of the sports world.
