A former NFL player for the Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles died, per multiple reports. Linebacker Bryan Braman, 38, was battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer that he was diagnosed with in February.
Earlier this month, Braman’s former teammate, J.J. Watt, helped donate to a GoFundMe page set up for Braman to help with surgery expenses.
On Thursday, Watt posted a message on X following news of Braman’s death.
“Rest in Peace brother. Gone far too soon,” Watt posted.

The Texans signed Braman as an undrafted free agent before the 2011 season. He joined the Eagles in 2014 and had a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints in 2017 before rejoining Philadelphia to help them defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
Braman played college football at Idaho, Long Beach City College, and West Texas A&M before joining the league. He appeared in 97 games and recorded 1.5 sacks and 56 tackles.
In one of his best moments on the gridiron, he blocked a punt in the Eagles’ divisional round win over the Atlanta Falcons for the 2017 postseason.
