‘Mistake and stupidity’ – Removal truck outside Viktor Gyökeres encourages Arsenal flight drama

Journalist Bruno Andrade has weighed in on the ongoing Viktor Gyökeres saga, [following new footage aired by CNN Portugal](https://maisfutebol.iol.pt/videos/6878f57b0cf20ac1d5f34442/se-gyokeres-viajar-com-o-arsenal-sem-o-negocio-feito-e-um-erro-e-uma-estupidez) showing a moving truck parked outside the striker’s Lisbon house.

Andrade warned that if the Arsenal target boards the plane for the club’s pre-season tour without a deal being finalised, there could be serious consequences both for the player and for the English side.

_“Gyökeres travelling with the Arsenal delegation? It’s one of two things: either the deal is already sealed, and there would be no issue, or he would be handing Sporting’s board an open case for tapping up to present to FIFA,”_ he said.

While acknowledging that the Swedish striker’s agent has been very active behind the scenes, Andrade stressed the need for caution before jumping to conclusions.

_“I’ll only speak with full certainty when all the elements of the negotiation are known. Because if he travels without the deal being done, it’s not just a mistake, it’s stupidity. A mistake on its own, yes, but stupidity because he will then face the consequences,”_ he concluded.

Gyökeres has been at the centre of drawn-out negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting CP, [with recent reports suggesting that the two sides are still €2.5m apart](https://sportwitness.co.uk/the-daily-viktor-gyokeres-arsenal-fan-anger-saturday-desire-plane-may-be-leaving-without-arsenal-target/) on the final bonus structure of the deal.

The striker has not featured in Sporting’s pre-season fixtures and has faced public backlash from fans over his absence.

With Mikel Arteta’s squad set to depart on Saturday, the situation is becoming increasingly tense. And, as Andrade’s comments suggest, any premature move could complicate matters further.
